Updates

Developed from the ground up using industry standard tools and techniques, Stockit for Windows is aimed at small to medium businesses with a need for reliable management of their stores and production activities. Stockit takes the risk out of stock control by holding complete records of parts lists, stock levels, component suppliers, purchase orders and production jobs, and automatically allocates stock when a new production batch is required. The core of the product is built around a Microsoft Access database, accessed using the Microsoft Jet database for industry-standard access and performance and full multi-user capability.

New Features in Version 1.1
Assembly Lists
It is now possible to make modifications to an assembly list; notes, comments and part descriptions may be added or edited.

Complete Work In Progress
The information that is reported in the 'Complete Work In Progress' dialog can now be retained as a separate report for viewing or printing after the dialog has been closed. When completing products or sub-products the quantity of each being completed is also now shown. It is now possible to complete work in progress on a job as well as a product basis. Completing a job will complete all the products and sub-products that it contains in a single action.

Dates
Date fields can now be edited directly if preferred, rather than using the popup date bar. Dates can also now be configured to show named or numeric months, and will use the system regional date format and separator.

Filter dialog
Three-way filtering is now available, allowing filtering of database records on up to 3 fields or values. The keyboard key Shift+F3 has been assigned to this dialog. The Filter dialog can now also handle boolean (true/false) values, recognising any of the following : T/F, True/False, 1/0, Y/N, Yes/No.

Forms
The height of the headings row for a grid shown in a form is now resizable vertically, allowing column widths to be reducing without the heading becoming unreadable. The keyboard keys PageUp and PageDown now move through records by more than one record at a time. Synchronisation of related forms has been improved so that when relevant information is changed via a separate form or by a different user, related forms will auto-refresh with the updates or will indicate that the database has been updated. When a form refreshes, where possible the currently selected record will be retained.

Goods In
A new button allows all 'received' values to be cleared in one go, effectively cancelling the whole of the current goods-in operation. Also, a warning message is displayed if an over-delivery quantity is entered.

Help
An additional "?Help" button on each form or dialogs gives quick access to relevant help pages. Both the online help and the users guide have updated for this latest release.

Import
Both the Stockit DOS and StockWin import have been updated and refined to handle specific additional import conditions.

Jobs
It is now possible to perform all production steps, including 'Release to Production' and Complete Work in Progress', from the Jobs form.

Mix of Products
The context menu (on the right-hand mouse button) now includes the Part Structure option.

Orders
Placing new purchase orders now has an option to add the orders to an already allocated production job, thus allowing cancelled production orders to be replaced. Adding a 'required' date now changes the order type to show that it is now scheduled.

Purchase Orders and Quotes
Purchase Order forms and Quotes now include the company registration and VAT numbers if these have been entered into the database. They also include the suppliers telephone and fax numbers for reference.

Parts Lists
A new option on the context menu allows you to reload stock item descriptions from the Stock table, allowing you to refresh your parts list after stock descriptions have been changed.

Part Structure
This report now shows multiple instances of included parts lists.

Release to Production
The information that is reported in the 'Confirm Release Stock to Production' dialog can now be retained as a separate report for viewing or printing after the dialog has been closed. When releasing products or sub-products the quantity of each being released is also now shown. It is now possible to complete work in progress on a job as well as a product basis. Releasing a job will release all the products and sub-products that it contains in a single action.

Remove Old Records
It is now possible to remove records for completed and cancelled jobs and purchase orders from the database.

Report builder
This is a new dialog that allows user selection of data from various sources, optionally sorting and/or filtering it, and writing it to a report or comma-separated (CSV) file.

Reports
A new button on the Reports dialog allows modified column widths to be reset for individual reports. Certain reports can now be sorted once produced, by double-clicking on the column header. A new Component Details report is available from the Reports dialog.

Sort
A button for sorting records in a grid has now been added to the Record Navigator bar shown at the foot of forms. Previously, sorting was only available by double-clicking on the column header of the grid. Forms can now also be sorted on multiple fields.

Stock
A 'Pack Qty' of 1 will no longer produce 10 x 1 PK on orders. This can be used, if you wish, for 'integral' items.
